Why Your Shopify Products Aren’t Showing on Your Store (Fix Publishing Settings)
Missing products on your Shopify store? You’re not alone — this is one of the most common beginner issues in Shopify. In this tutorial, we’ll fix it in just a few steps so your products finally appear where they should.
So, you’ve added your products to Shopify — they’re active, they have inventory, and yet they’re not showing on your live website. The good news? The problem isn’t your theme or code. It’s your publishing settings.
Every product in Shopify needs to be published to specific sales channels. These channels include your Online Store, the Shop app, and your Point of Sale (POS) device if you have one. If a product isn’t toggled on for your Online Store, it simply won’t appear on your site.
Here’s how to check it:
- Go to Products in your Shopify admin.
- Select the product that’s missing (for example, your “Beanie”).
- Scroll down to Publishing and click Manage.
- Make sure Online Store is checked.
- Click Done → Save.
After saving, refresh your website — the missing product should now appear on your storefront.
Sometimes you might have multiple products imported or migrated into Shopify. In that case, it’s easier to fix this in bulk:
- From your Products page, select all your products.
- Click Edit products to open the bulk editor.
- Click Columns → select Sales channels.
- Now you can see which products are published to your Online Store and which aren’t. Toggle Online Store for all the ones that should appear.
This works like a spreadsheet — you can drag the blue fill handle down to apply publishing settings to all selected products. Once done, click Save.
It’s also a good idea to double-check that each product’s status is set to Active. Draft or Unlisted products won’t display even if they’re published to the right sales channels.
Once all your products are active and published to your Online Store, your catalog will appear correctly. From there, you can start building your automated collections and refine your store layout.
